Looking to learn the basic fundamentals of Yoga?

Deepen your understanding of the foundational principles of Yoga in this series designed for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

When you’re brand new to yoga, it can feel intimidating and be difficult to know exactly where and how to get started. Our Beginner Series has been created specifically for you—to give you all the tips, guidelines, and recommendations you will need to start a successful yoga practice. 

Our 8 week Beginner Series is a great foundation, aimed at all ages, levels of flexibility & abilities. Throughout the weeks you will learn the basic fundamentals of yoga postures including technical alignment, benefits of the poses, breathing, basic yoga philosophy and its applications to daily life. Every week there is a new focus in which the class is themed around,

Our classes are super relaxed and so much fun. We will take our time working through the common yoga poses so that you understand the benefits, technique and feeling of each one. You will have plenty of time to practice each pose in a no-pressure environment. We also encourage you to ask lots of questions, to laugh when you fall out of Tree Pose and to challenge yourself with some fun inversions too. And who knows, you might even make a few new yoga friends!

We limit the size of the beginners course to 15 students so that you receive plenty of individual attention.

We highly recommended completion of this 8 week course as an introductory start to Yoga as well as attending any of our weekly classes if time permits.

This course is for you if you’ve always wanted to ‘do’ Yoga but don’t want to walk into a class because you feel you don’t know what you’re doing, or think you’re not flexible enough! We are all uniquely different and that is why each posture will look different for each of us. We learn to work within our own limits and progress safely and steadily There is no perfect posture or perfection! You are perfect exactly as you are!

You will soon learn, Yoga is far from what social media may portray. It’s wonderful of course to progress in your practise, however traditional Yoga teachings explains its never about touching your toes, but what you learn along your journey of self discovery. You will soon uncover so much more about who you are from the core.

What to expect

 
 

Brief Outline

The 8 week, Beginner Series Course readily prepares and equips you with everything you need to be informed and confident to be able to attend classes regularly and practice safely.

The course is designed to build slowly from the ground up.

Philosophy

You will be given a step-by-step guide to take home, explaining how to cultivate inner peace and happiness utilising the ancient and traditional teachings of Yoga.  

Yoga has the power to change lives! and with this guide I hope to spread the grace of yoga as a spiritual journey of mind, body and soul connection.


Postures (Asana)

You will explore how to complete each movement safely, and how to modify postures to accomodate your own personal abilities (which includes any modification for injury or contraindications)

 

Yoga Props

You will learn how to explore movement with Props such as, blankets, straps, blocks and Yoga Chairs. All of our Mats & Props are complimentary.

Pranayama & Meditation

You will learn the importance of Pranayama Breathing techniques eg: Ujjaji (Victorious Breath) , Bandhas (body locks) and the fundamentals of Meditation.

Off The Mat

Most importantly you will learn the tools of meditation, breathing techniques and alignment to compliment your everyday life.

WEEK 1 | Surya Namaskar A- Finding the breath & linking with movement

WEEK 2 | Strength & Balance

WEEK 3 | Cleansing & Twisting

WEEK 4 | Forward Bends- going within

WEEK 5 | Backbends- heart openers

WEEK 6 | Hip Openers + Surya Namaskar B

WEEK 7 | Shoulder Opening & Strengthening

WEEK 8 | Inversions- preparation only


PLUS you can attend up to 8 extra classes from our regular schedule.
