In keeping with International Yoga Day & Winter Solstice our theme of Intention on this day, we honour Yoga Mala, a practice based upon the number 108 (a special number that is said to be auspicious.)
A Yoga Mala is often a practice of 108 consecutive Surya Namaskar, but also may be 108 minutes of meditation or other practices. We will invite the theme of Darkness & the Nature of Yin and Restorative as a cooler and calming element of practise. We further invite Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses - going inward), Meditation and light refreshments.
We honour the nature of yin/yang, day/night, activity/rest and a sense of awareness, gratitude, stillness and darkness. It is a time of quiet energy and deep rest as we re-align with our intentions for the second half of 2019.
