      <image:title>About us - Hello Dearest Yogi’s &amp; Yogini’s, I’m Dani, the Owner &amp; Founder of Soul Flame Yoga since 2017. I just wanted to briefly introduce myself and share with you a little about how we made our way to where we are today. We relocated from Victoria to Chatsworth, Queensland early 2021, after having to close my beloved Yoga Studio in Melbourne. This was by far one of the hardest decisions and times of my life personally, after loosing my father, our studio and then having to farewell my beautiful Soul Tribe became more like family. The devastating loss of the studio, was due to the many unforeseen restrictions placed on small businesses during a time of uncertainty. This was a choice out of my control and I understood after some time that the universe always has a plan, even if I couldn’t see that far ahead yet. This is what the path of Yoga teaches us, and I, like you am still a student of YOGA. Yoga is a journey and path of growth and learning each and everyday, I feel this is where YOGA has led me, my new life, community and experiences. I’ am so grateful for this experience and hope I’m lucky enough to guide you. Myself and family made the conscious effort to let go of fear and insecurities and put a plan in place to move forward. This decision was not only for a brighter future ahead for ourselves, however for the selfless service we wish to give back to the community who have suffered immensely throughout this time. We are blessed to have found our own little paradise, now living on 5 acres amongst nature in the most beautiful region of Chatsworth/Gympie in Queensland. We began a labour of love renovating the most picture perfect Barn that we now call our Shala. We are truly blessed to be sitting on the hilltops amongst the beauty of nature, capturing the most spectacular views of the country side, far and wide. Yin is perfect for those who have developed strong but overly tight muscles – to improve their flexibility and achieve greater agility, power and endurance. The Benefits of Yin Yoga This style of yoga is ideal for complete beginners and requires no previous experience. The other primary benefits are: - Increasing flexibility - Loosening up tight joints - Improving range of motion - Easing aches and pains - Improving posture - Speeding up athletic recovery - Building discipline - Improving breath efficiency - Relaxing the body - Calming the mind Restorative Yoga uses props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort to facilitate relaxation and health. It is a practice of deliberate stillness and requires no muscular effort. In this class, you have are given options to take either a Restorative (restful or nurturing approach) or Yin, which is dependant on how you feel on any given day. We will settle into some supported floor poses (gentle twists, supported forward folds and back bends, slight/supported inversions, and different versions of Savasana). Yin Yoga is a slow-paced approach practice where poses are held for a longer period of time in a relaxed manner, up to 5 minutes or more. Yin in particular is a safe practise in order to increase flexibility and stretch and lengthen muscles. On the physical level Yin Yoga targets bones, joints and connective tissues.       <image:caption>Looking to learn the basic fundamentals of Yoga? Deepen your understanding of the foundational principles of Yoga in this series designed for both beginners and experienced practitioners. When you’re brand new to yoga, it can feel intimidating and be difficult to know exactly where and how to get started. Our Beginner Series has been created specifically for you—to give you all the tips, guidelines, and recommendations you will need to start a successful yoga practice.  Our 8 week Beginner Series is a great foundation, aimed at all ages, levels of flexibility &amp; abilities. Throughout the weeks you will learn the basic fundamentals of yoga postures including technical alignment, benefits of the poses, breathing, basic yoga philosophy and its applications to daily life. Every week there is a new focus in which the class is themed around, Our classes are super relaxed and so much fun. We will take our time working through the common yoga poses so that you understand the benefits, technique and feeling of each one. You will have plenty of time to practice each pose in a no-pressure environment. We also encourage you to ask lots of questions, to laugh when you fall out of Tree Pose and to challenge yourself with some fun inversions too. And who knows, you might even make a few new yoga friends! We limit the size of the beginners course to 15 students so that you receive plenty of individual attention. We highly recommended completion of this 8 week course as an introductory start to Yoga as well as attending any of our weekly classes if time permits. This course is for you if you’ve always wanted to ‘do’ Yoga but don’t want to walk into a class because you feel you don’t know what you’re doing, or think you’re not flexible enough! We are all uniquely different and that is why each posture will look different for each of us. We learn to work within our own limits and progress safely and steadily There is no perfect posture or perfection! You are perfect exactly as you are! You will soon learn, Yoga is far from what social media may portray. It’s wonderful of course to progress in your practise, however traditional Yoga teachings explains its never about touching your toes, but what you learn along your journey of self discovery.       <image:caption>We have combined both a “Restorative” and “Yin” practise to slow down and nourish the entire Mind, Body and Soul. Restorative Yoga uses props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort to facilitate relaxation and health. It is a practice of deliberate stillness and requires no muscular effort. In this class, you have are given options to take either a Restorative (restful or nurturing approach) or Yin, which is dependant on how you feel on any given day. We will settle into some supported floor poses (gentle twists, supported forward folds and back bends, slight/supported inversions, and different versions of Savasana). Yin Yoga is a slow-paced approach practice where poses are held for a longer period of time in a relaxed manner, up to 5 minutes or more. Yin in particular is a safe practise in order to increase flexibility and stretch and lengthen muscles. On the physical level Yin Yoga targets bones, joints and connective tissues. On the energetic level the practice reconnects with its roots of Taoist yoga, and uses the ancient map and modern theory of the meridians, the long holds in Yin restore harmony in the subtle body by targeting the channels that run through the connective tissues. Yin Yoga is a Quiet Practice. All levels welcome!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Preparing for Meditation Prepare your space. One of the most important aspects of Meditation is preparing your space to allow you to sit or lay still for the duration of your practice without distraction. You may choose to lay down on the spine in savasana, placing the palms facing upwards as a sign of surrender. Placing a pillow or bolster under the knees for comfort, a blanket over your body, eye pillow and anything else to fully support the body. Alternative is you prepare for meditation in a seated position get any supportive props to assist. If you need blocks or blankets or cushions, make sure those are all handy and nearby. Make sure that you have more than you might possibly need so that you don’t need to get up in the middle of your practice to grab something Remove distractions. its also important to remove any distractions from the room. Silence your phone, feed the pets, go to the bathroom, and take care of any other issues or chores that may distract or bother you during your meditation. Gather your intentions. A powerful way to encourage success in meditation is to remind yourself of your intention or to set a new intention if you are not guided with one. This intention is the main focus and goal of what you wish to achieve in your meditation. Reminding yourself of this right before you meditate will deepen your focus and your resolve. Refine your posture. As you sit or lay for your meditation, just take a few moments to let yourself settle into your position. Make any adjustments to your posture so that your spine is long and tall, and that your body is supported with the least amount of muscular tension. A comfortable position is vital for a successful meditation practice. Adjust your breath. Lastly, allow yourself to settle into the experience of your breath. Take a few moments to refine the breath and encourage it to slow and deepen.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>HH Dip (E.H.Th) Eastern Holistic Therapist | Yoga Teacher &amp; Founder of Soul Flame Yoga Dani began her spiritual journey while practising and teaching Martial Arts for over twelve years, currently holding a Second Dan Black Belt in Karate.  Dani’s selfless and caring nature sparked a deep passion to help others, encouraging her to spread her wings further in teaching both women’s and children's self defence.   Dani has a deep love for Yoga and its rich traditional philosophies and believes - “Yoga Found Me”, while also being quite a natural transition from her Martial Arts background.  Dani strongly believes Yoga is for everyone and flexibility should not govern whether you choose to practise Yoga! We are all uniquely beautiful and each pose will look different for each individual.  Dani was drawn to Yoga like many other practitioners who have been faced with experiences of hardship throughout life in order to self heal.  As many others today in the modern world, Dani suffered with crippling mental illnesses such as PTSD, Anxiety and Depression and through her studies learnt these experiences have not only prepared her for the Yoga journey ahead, it became evidently clear Dani’s purpose was to help others heal in the most positive way. Dani became a Certified 500hr Yoga Teacher whilst studying for 12 months at Moksha Academy of Yoga in Melbourne, which cemented her life purpose and natural progression into becoming a caring and giving teacher. Further to this Dani completed her Yin Yoga Training: The Functional Approach training with Paul Grilley. Dani’s is also a certified Eastern Holistic Therapist, in which she offers various holistic healing modalities such as Reiki, Acupressure, Shiatsu, Qi Gong and Kinesiology to name a few. Dani certainly leaves a positive and uplifting impression to all she encounters and is never shy of giving free hugs regularly.  Her open heart, bubbly personality and encouragement,  see’s her create a nurturing, fun and caring environment where all aspects of mind and body are experience. Dani is an Audio Engineer and has also been a Musician and Singer Songwriter for many years, performing internationally.   Since 2014 Dani has been playing the lead singing role of “G” in Gwen Stefani's hit animation series Kuu Kuu Harajuku.  Dani's love for music see’s her create beautifully created sequences that will take you on a journey of self love.       <image:caption>Man is the known as the highest creation of God. Among all types of living species, he alone has the power to control his thoughts, actions and feelings using the power of this mind. Yoga is an ancient practise from India, which teaches man the art of transcending to an even higher level of consciousness, where his sense of the ‘self’ is obliterated and he becomes one with the Almighty God through his actions and thoughts. Reaching that level of consciousness is not an easy task, considering that yogi’s in India dedicate their whole life to attain Moksha. However there are some basic fundamental approaches which everyone can follow to experience more peace and harmony in their lives. Basic Fundamentals of Yoga The basic fundamentals of Yoga is based on the concept that human beings are basically spiritual beings and aims to free us from the shackles of this worldly bondage that ties us down to our mundane existence of wants, wishes and desires. Yoga aims to make us realise our inner divinity which is much beyond our body mind and possession. In order to attain this superior level of consciousness, it is important that as individuals we lead a moral life that is guided by the principals of law, order, truthfulness, virtue, chastity, compassion and kindness. It is only when we follow these basic guidelines that we can realise our true nature fully. Yoga is a mind and body practise, which means one, has to exercise both the mind and the body to reap the benefits. Firstly we need to practise the yogic poses correctly every day, which would keep our body fit. Secondly we need to engage in daily meditations so that we can understand of our minds and discover our true consciousness. Yoga is all about breaking the shackles of regularity, which binds us to a pattern of life. In order to become a perfect yogi an individual needs to replace undesirable habit patterns with positive ones. As part of the Yogic philosophy a yogi needs to let go all types of attachment, which alone holds the key to our liberation. The masters or gurus who teach yoga to his disciples are regarded as channels of benevolent energies, or blessings. The process by which a guru blesses a disciple is called “transmission” (samcâra) in section schools of Jaina yoga and Buddhist Yoga. Yoga is basically initiatory in nature and one needs guidance from a qualified teacher to attain success in this line. The higher one proceeds in the level of consciousness, the more shall he feel the need for a proper guru. Keeping in mind the different types of mental and physical disposition of different individuals the early practitioners of yoga classified this ancient branch of learning into seven broad categories. Hatha Yoga- Developed during the 12th century, the practises of Hatha Yoga, involves the use of some amount of force in practising various asana. Hatha Yoga is widely practised in the western countries and is one of the most popular forms of yogic practises followed by people all around the world. Jnana Yoga- This form of yoga is all about the liberation of the mind and attainment of wisdom through yogic practises. Raja Yoga- This is traditionally regarded as “classical yoga” and aims to teach the yogi the principals of gaining control over mind and emotions. Karma Yoga- Widely based on the teachings of Bhagavad Gita, Karma yoga teaches the philosophies of selfless action through which liberation can be achieved. Bhakti-Yoga- Bhakti yoga teaches the principals through which one can achieve state of spiritual enlightenment or liberation through the realisation of oneness with God. Tantra Yoga – Tantra Yoga is a form of yoga where two people in conjugation try to attain a common or universal consciousness by practising certain yogic principals and postures. Tantra yoga has nothing to do with sex or man- woman relationship. Mantra Yoga- Mantra yoga aims to attain liberation through continuous chanting of powerful words which creates a certain aura of empowerment around the reciter Yoga is a gradual and slow process by which the conscious self-encompassing our thoughts, ideas and emotions is replaced by an understanding of the higher consciousness which can lead us on the path to true self-realisation.
